TampaBay-Job-Links Has Outgrown its Space and is Moving to a New Location in the Westshore Area
TampaBay-Job-Links Has Outgrown its Space and is Moving to a New Location in the Westshore Area Tampa Bay – After eight years at their location at Kennedy and Lois in Tampa, TampaBay-Job-Links has outgrown its space and is moving to a new location in the Westshore area. “We are very excited about our new office space and the opportunity to serve more people,” said Executive Director, Sheila Solomon Rudd. “We chose to remain in the Westshore Area so we would maintain our accessibility to clients all around Tampa Bay.” As of May 15th, TampaBay-Job-Links will be located at Austin Center, 1211 N. West Shore Blvd., Suite 300 in Tampa.
“Job-Links co-founder, Jack Roth, gave us our original space in a professional office building for $1 a year at the height of the recession in 2010,” explained founding board chair Andi Jacobs. “This incredibly generous gift allowed us to hit the ground running, helping people gain employment. Jack was passionate about mentoring people and opening doors in the community. He would always say, ‘When you save one life you save the world.’ He lived this mission every day. We are grateful for Jack’s impact and the legacy he left.”
In 2018, Job-Links served over 200 job seekers. “The need for career and job-search coaching continues to grow as the workforce landscape evolves,” said Solomon Rudd. “We doubled our capacity from 2017 and regrettably had to turn people away or put them on a waiting list at times when space was an issue. In our new office we will have a dedicated training room that will allow us to accommodate more people, as well as room for future growth.”
Over 760 individuals have participated in interactive workshops on one-on-one with a professional career strategist since 2012, when Job-Links hired its first professional career coach. Since 2014, JobLinks has maintained a job landed rate of over 85%.
“It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with board members to grow the non-profit organization from a staff of one to a team of seven and to have touched so many lives in our community,” Solomon Rudd said. “We look forward to giving more people the skills, confidence, and community they need to move forward in our larger office,” said Jacobs.
TampaBay-Job-Links is a non-profit organization and a supportive community where people gain relevant job-search and career transition skills, helping them find employment to sustain themselves and their families. Professional career strategists work one-on-one and in small groups with job seekers as they navigate through their career transition. TBJL also assists employers with finding qualified candidates and offers outplacement services. TampaBay-Job-Links has been operating as a 501(c)3 since January of 2011 and is a member of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies (NJHSA).
